What intraoral x-ray involves
A great deal of what matters in dentistry sits below the surface, between teeth, inside a tooth, or in the bone around a root. We take an intraoral X-ray with a small sensor inside your mouth, and it takes moments. Because we have it here in the clinic, we can look at the image and discuss it with you in the same appointment, rather than sending you elsewhere and asking you to come back.
What happens at the appointment
We place a small sensor inside your mouth, next to the tooth we are examining.
We capture the image in a moment and it appears straight away.
We go through what the image shows with you.
We feed what we find directly into the treatment we are discussing.
Afterwards
There is nothing for you to do afterwards. Please tell us if you are pregnant or think you might be, so that we can take the appropriate precautions.
