What orthodontic treatment involves
Orthodontic treatment applies gentle, continuous pressure to move teeth over months rather than days. We offer both fixed braces and removable clear aligners. Which one suits you depends on how your teeth and bite need to move, your age, and how an appliance would fit into your daily life, so it is something we work out together at your consultation rather than decide in advance.
What happens at the appointment
We assess how your teeth meet, and take records or X-rays where we need them.
We talk through the realistic options with you, along with the likely duration and the cost.
We fit your braces or your first set of aligners once you decide to go ahead.
We see you for short review visits to adjust the appliance as your teeth move.
Afterwards
Teeth tend to drift back towards their old position, so we normally include a retainer in the plan once active treatment finishes. Cleaning routines change while braces are on, and we will show you how.
